Taking The First Step

So here I am once again, taking the plunge into recovery blogging after an 8 year hiatus. Of course, this is not a sudden decision but one borne out of careful and thoughtful consideration and after discussion with several long term recovery people I know.

So why am I doing this again? For 2 simple reasons: first, because "you can only keep what you have by giving it away". And second, knowing what it's like to be living hundreds of miles away from the nearest NA meeting and benefiting from online recovery, I know sharing my experience will help others.

I'm going through a major growth spurt right now, one that's taking place at a lightning speed and at a daunting pace. I need to keep track of what's going on and keep things in the forefront of my mind, so that I remain aware of the issues coming up and how I'm responding and what I"m doing to change and grow. Otherwise it will be a blur and as the saying goes: "those who ignore or forget history are doomed to repeat it". Well, I don't want or need to repeat anything, if I can help it.

For today, I am very grateful to HP and find myself rejoicing in my recovery.

Through this blog I will chronicle not only my current journey, but will stop to reflect along the way on some of the incredible challenges and the blessings and the lessons that resulted from them. I hope you join me in this journey called recovery because it’s truly a life beyond our wildest imaginings… you’ll see!
