Living in the Solution

Something the members of my homegroup are really into is "living in the solution". We weren't always in that space. In fact, I had a joke when my homegroup was about 3 yrs old (I had about 5 years clean then) I used to say that we could easily share for each at our meetings.

One day, while on a business trip I attended a meeting in Ft. Lauderdale and I remember hearing a woman share an issue she was struggling with and then she shared how she wanted to stay focused on living in the solution, rather than her struggle.

When I got back to my homegroup, I decided that each time I shared I would also try to share how I was going to try living in the solution. We all had become sick of the whining and so others too shared on the solution or what the sponsor said was the solution. It really helped change the tone and focus of our meetings from a dumping ground to a revovery focused and oriented meeting. I wonder if that's the reason so many visitors, passing through nyc, love our little meeting so much.

Well, I'm just glad that I continue to learn something new every week, 'cause that's what keeps me coming back.
